Here's where I showed up for residents with an issue. This is step one.

I want to provide several documents and the links to the videos regarding that DUET TOWERS & reference the development agreement that includes changes to North Ocean Park (NE 16th St & the beach).

Above, is a link to the developer's website, which in photos partially advertises the "cafe" on site, but the imagery shows the City of Pompano Beach's North Ocean Park to the east as it frames the cafe, as "part of the project". Additional images showcase signage and the park itself, titled as "Ocean Park" and "Entrance".

These show that they plan to encapsulate the design of their building and the park as one... and this is what is still concerning to residents today - that they don't currently have any input in how that park will be redesigned, or reimagined for the PEOPLE of Pompano Beach as a city park.

It's still relevant to this election, because the park redevelopment is currently in the Development Review Committee process, and as per the development agreement, may only require the city manager's signature for "final approval". I can attach two PDFs from the project's drawings folder that show the imagery as proposed for the park.

Additionally, the designs show no covered patio or pavilion, which is currently used often by residents. Same with picnic tables, grills, etc. There's another concern about some of the imagery showing the removal of the beautiful seagrapes and dune vegetation currently at the site.

Residents are STILL concerned that the developer's offer of city of Pompano Beach park "renovations" were an inexpensive way for the developers to gain additional benefits that would allow them to showcase their adjacent property development and/or sell it as "oceanfront", when it is not.

I've been in touch with Jeanie, who said she still has the original signed petition from back then, and when she arrives back in Florida, will provide it to me to verify that she in fact did have back then, and now, the support of the residents in that petition.

There are countless other news outlets that covered this as well, back in 2019 when it was newsworthy regarding the rezoning.

I wanted to let you know that not only am I 100% tuned in to the residents in District 1, I also do my research. This is just one of the types of frustration that residents have been dealing with for a very long time.
